SHANGHAI, Jun. 11, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- China's four major web portals, Sina.com (SINA.NASDAQ), Sohu.com (NASDAQ:SOHU) (SOHU.NASDAQ), Netease.com (NASDAQ:NTES) (NTES.NASDAQ) and Tencent.com (0700.HK) realized combined revenues of 670 million US dollars in the first quarter of 2009, up 47.84 percent year on year, and 3.4 percent quarter on quarter.
Their revenues in advertising declined in the first quarter, and the fall is predicted to continue into the second quarter, according to Fu Yi, analyst from JL McGregor & Company.
However, Fu forecasts that China's web portals' advertising revenues will advance 10 percent in 2009.
