This morning, International Business Machines (IBM) declared its quarterly dividend of fifty five cents per share. With the dividend, the company also announced it would be increase its share repurchase program by $5 billion as means of creating additional shareholder value. The share repurchase program now has $9.2 billion to purchase shares. In afternoon trading, shares of IBM were trading higher following the news, up more than one percent. In other dividend news, Boeing (BA) maintained its quarterly dividend of 42 cents per share. American Electric Power (AEP) maintained its quarterly dividend of 41 cents per share. United States Steel (X) maintained its quarterly dividend of 5 cents per share. And AK Steel (AKS) maintained its quarterly dividend of 5 cents per share.
