This morning, Family Dollar Stores (FDO) declared its quarterly dividend of 13.5 cents per share. With the dividend, the company also announced it had increased the size of its share repurchase agreement to $400 million. Investors were encouraged by the news and sent shares higher by more than two and a half percent. In other dividend news, Kimberly Clark (KMB) maintained its quarterly dividend of 60 cents per share. XTO Energy (XTO) maintained its quarterly dividend of 12.5 cents per share. And Clorox (CLX) maintained its quarterly dividend of 50 cents per share. Among dividend increases, Royal Gold (RGLD) announced its quarterly dividend of 9 cents per share, an increase of about 12% over its prior dividend in September of 8 cents.
