Why is it saying not eligible for the contest?! Everytime I check it says, "you're now eligible blah blah... " but it never updates anything or gives me a ranking and it still says "not eligible'!! So Frustrating!

Who cares if your eligible...They are so messed up everytime you are doing well they do something strange to your portfolio and it changes all your numbers...They sale things would dont tell them to for odd reasons ...saying you over when your not...You cant seem to win for lossing...So dont flustrate yourself by getting in the contest

UPDOWN please fix my portfolio I bought HGSI and my portfolio showed negative 1.4M and I had a Market call on CIT To sell Most of my shares. I bought CIT @ 59cent (give or take) and owned over 1.3M shares. Updown reduce my shares to a little over 100,000. Do to your mistake I had a Market Call. Please Fix it Soon. Thank YOU.

As for me it's just frustrating that I shorted AIG for a 12% gain and had not affiliated my portfolio gains with FAS or FAZ yet my gains were still taken away. I should logically be up by 21%. I don't want to be demanding but in the sheer nature of being thrasonical I would like my gains to be returned.

it's probably because his portfolio got messed up on friday, and went down that many places. I did the same thing and went up over 8000 slots today with only 2% gain.

My portfolio is totally messed up!!! I went from a legitimate 2nd place to basically last in the July contest. I will no longer use UpDown; as they refuse to fix my portfolio. I advise all of you to do the same, as it is a waste of your time to attempt to make money on this site; as they will literally screw you in the end. I worked for 9 days straight to get into second place and due to a messed up website and horrible technical support, I lost 8 days of work. I've been using this site for over 1.5 years and I guess loyalty means nothing to the people that run this site.

UpDown, AFAIK, does not allow that and it might just be an error. If you reset halfway through a contest your month's gain reset's - I know because I have done so.

Somehow I'm down a million dollars today. Which makes no sense. I was going to win $100 this month, so i actually cared about the July contest. Now that I can't trade because all my positions are backwards buys are shorts, and shorts are buys; I'm down over 50%. UPDOWN SUCKS!!!!

And the second you thought updown could correctly deal with reverse splits. I am also screwed over it canceled 3 of my trades I supossedly lost 465,000 dollars when I have even bought that amount in stock, and i'm down 11,256 slots!

Down -155.23%,They screwed up op the price of FAZ....I am shorting FAZ, and it says that I bought FAZ at -$1.57. First of all FAZ was at $55, and how is it possible for a stock to be in negative value. Not only can I not trade right now, it also canceled one of my trades and screwed me over from making profit from that trade.... Honestly this is BS

Updown is soo frustrating. Too many glitches and every time i write an email (and apparently anyone else for that matter too) i am simply ignored. I, and i can guess many people use this site as a way to practice, not just to win the money, (although that is the only perk this site has) would prefer to use a site that is more consistant with real market condidtions. I found a new website that offers more realistic trading condidions, as well as more order types. "Bought to cover AIG for $6,580,236.16 and AIG for $37,412,775.72. " 37million? Seems to be a glitch, that could be where u lost your money. With 60m, 37m is more than 50% of your balance,and that doesn't work with the 20% rule, and btw, AIG didn't go up, AIG went down 21%, so if you were shorting, when you covered, it should have only been less than 20%, but I still think it was the error for the 20:1 split, and your portfolio hasn't been fixed yet

You may have had the same problem I did. If you were short on AIG before the 1:20 split, Updown thought your short had just lost 1500%.

John Satclaire, I think you have it right. I was shorting AIG after the split though,,,so this shouldnt have happened to my portfolio at all. I was shorting it in the $20s and high teens. So they decided to slice my whole portfolio by 95%,,because I left a short AIG position open at the end of the day. Unreal.

Great job, Updown: your AIG screw up, mixed with the maintance margin call sales, has completely wrecked my portfolio. Because I was short AIG at around $1.60, Updown thought I lost about $5 million when the 1:20 split happened. Then the system automatically sold off all my AIG, AAPL and most other positions to cover these "losses." Updown hasn't fixed by unwinding the automatic sales/covers. Pure genius.

I think you are SOL, just like me. I don't think updown recognizes pink sheet symbol, so when a bankrupt stock changes exchanges, updown never credits you with new shares. LEAR.PK has already been trading all day, so I doubt LEA will ever trade again and our portfolios we be stuck shorting those shares at $.48
