Just a bit ago the long awaited game Spore was released. The problem occurring was the copyright protection EA put on this game that limited the buyer to a limited number of installing the game. After the limited is reached you would have to call EA. This is were the piracy comes in. The pirated edition is unlocked giving the user an unlimited number of installing. Unless EA will address this issue Spore will become the most pirated game ever, hurting EA' s stocks.

Hate to say it, but this is pretty true. The SecuROM fiasco only tends to hurt legitimate buyers, as the pirateers will find a way around the copy protection anyway. In the end, it's a case of treating the customer like a criminal while the real criminals don't even blink.
