It closed on Friday at 34.12 which is still below my buy to cover stop at 34.34. Monday the stock opens at $35.12 gapping higher than Friday's close. My stop loss order fails to execute because the UpDown code either does not look at all open orders or only selects those orders whose stop price is close to the current price or some such flawed logic. At any rate hours later the stop has never executed because the stop price line was not crossed by the current price line. The code is flawed because the stop should have executed immediately when the stock opened for trading. The opening price of $35.12 is obviously greater than my stop order at $34.34. I have contacted the staff at UpDown previously about this and their response was that they DO NOT guarantee stop loss orders to execute. That is what they told me. My question is what is the reasoning behind that decision? How do I know when the stops will execute and when they will not? This makes absolutely no sense since the purpose of a stop order is to execute a market order when the current price is on the wrong side of your stop price. UpDown.com, your stop loss order processing is flawed. Please correct it. </div> Group Discussion groupDiscussion-3772 Mon, 29 Dec 2008 12:15:32 EST UpDown Group Discussion Unable to place trades http://www.updown.com/Stock-Pros-and-Bros/group-discussions/1321 <div>By <a href=http://www.updown.com/member/seaglass>seaglass</a></div><div>Getting error message: Unable to execute query (select * from mtblprice_delayed where symbol = ? and asset_type = 'e' and exchange_id in (3,4,7,12,13)) using bind_params(VIP): java.lang.NullPointerException</div> Group Discussion groupDiscussion-3768 Fri, 26 Dec 2008 12:37:05 EST UpDown Group Discussion Which one?!?!? http://www.updown.com/Stock-Pros-and-Bros/group-discussions/1321 <div>By <a href=http://www.updown.com/member/man2>man2</a></div><div>Hello, I am new to the group but have been diffling around UpDown for a bit.
