Philips (PHG) announced a profit of 251 million euros versus a loss of 1.17 billion euros in the same year-ago period. Shares of Philips are up about seven and a quarter percent on the earnings announcment. AK Steel (AKS) announced a quarterly profit of 36 cents per share, handily beating estimates of 20 cents. AK Steel is up almost five and three quarters percent on the announcement. PrivateBancorp (PVTB) had a quarterly loss of 30 cents per share.
