For purposes of the updown "premise" -- which, stated quite simply, is "beat the S&P" -- I'm sure I'll be glued to CNBC and my updown watch list during trading hours, and will likely make at least six-to-twelve transactions per day. At the same time, however, I imagine MOST of those trades will be a sort of "repositioning" between the stocks I already hold: selling some of one stock when it's up a bit, and then purchasing more of another stock that's taken a bit of a hit.

I'm also a bit of a contrarian, I think. I don't hold ANY major financials yet ... but I do hold some VG and ETFC; two stocks that have been rather wallowing in the mire for the last several months. What can I say: I'm simply hoping for both of them to make a significant break-out!
